Cavalry Memorial Parade 2012

Hundreds of serving and past members of cavalry regiments, together with several military bands performed a march past in Hyde Park today. Nearly all were dressed in dark suits with ties of their regiment. Many wore bowler hats and carried rolled up umbrellas. The march led onto a memorial service by the bandstand followed by lunch. 

No BBC after switchover on my Humax

I have a well used and reliable Humax PVR-8000T which has a Freeview turner and a PVR. When the UK digital TV switch over happened in April 2012 I found out that I could not get any BBC TV channels. ITV and all the other channels were fine.

I searched around the internet and found that many people where having the same problem, not just Humax, but many other older Freeview set-top boxes. I could not see my Humax on the supported list so I was thinking I needed to upgrade, even after trying a few tips.

Malaysia comes to Trafalgar Square

The sounds, smell and taste of Malaysia street food came to Trafalgar Square last night. Malaysia Kitchen, which represents the 50 or more Malaysian restaurants in the UK organised the event. Around 30 food stalls served food to thousands of visitors. Dancers and singers entertained the audience. Trafalgar Square is a great venue to experience these cultural events.

Chipperfield and Sarratt pub walk 2011

We normally meet up at The Fox & Hounds, Croxley then get a lift to the The Royal Oak, explore Chipperfield and Sarratt. We finish off at The Cock Inn for a curry. Normally around 20-30 people join in every year, some from as far away as Belgium.
